KPK Examines The Wife Of The Former Governor Of North Maluku Regarding The Flow Of Corruption Funds And Asset Ownership

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to trace the flow of corruption funds in the form of gratification and ownership of the assets of former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba by examining a number of witnesses including his wife Faoniah H. Jauhar, namely on Monday, September 23.

"The examination at the Immigration Office of Ternate City, North Maluku," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, September 24.

Faoniah was examined with other witnesses. Among them are the initials NAD, ML, AAM who are entrepreneurs and D as the agent of BRI Link.

Based on provisional information, the initials of those summoned were the names Nasrudin Abd. Djabir, Muhlis Lasende, and Adnan Ahmad Marhaban as entrepreneurs and Darwis who are BRI Link agents.

"Witnesses who attended were investigated regarding their role and knowledge of the gratuities received by the suspect and the assets of the suspect," said Tessa.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission also summoned other witnesses, but they were absent. Tessa said that the witnesses who were not present without information were Djafar HI A. Gani and Kun Pakaya who were entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, two other witnesses, namely Lucky Radjapati as a private and entrepreneur named Elvis Ongky, were not present and asked for a reschedule.

The KPK has named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). He is suspected of washing up to Rp100 billion.

The determination of this suspect was carried out as the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. Abdul Gani has been detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT).

In addition, the KPK named Abdul Gani Kasuba's confidant, Muhaimin Syarif, who is the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD as a suspect.

He is suspected of bribing former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba in the amount of Rp. 7 billion for the management of the Production Operation IUP to the proposal for the determination of the mining business permit area (WIUP) to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Then this gift is also related to projects within the North Maluku Provincial Government. The bribe was given by Muhaimin Syarif directly to Abdul Gani or through aides and through banking transactions.
