The Role Of The Chairperson Of The Semarang City Gapensi In The Direct Appointment Of Project Work Investigated By The KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the role of the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) of Semarang City Martono in the process of directly appointing project work in the Semarang City Government (Pemkot). This step was taken by examining a number of administrators today.

Martono is one of four people who have been prevented from leaving the country in connection with a corruption case at the Semarang City Government. Although it has not been officially announced, he is said to be one of the suspects.

"For Gapensi, it was investigated regarding the role of suspect M in direct appointment," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, September 23.

Tessa detailed that the Semarang City Gapensi were questioned with the initials D, S, SW, HKS, SM, and GS. "The examination was carried out at the Semarang Polrestabes," he said.

Meanwhile, from the information obtained, they are Damsrin as the administrator of the Semarang City Gapensi for the 2019-2024 period; Siswoyo as Deputy Secretary of the Semarang City Gapensi for the 2019-2024 period; and Suwarno, Herning Kirono Sidi, Sapto Marnugroho, and Gatot Sunarto as a Member of the Semarang City Gapensi for the 2019-2024 period.

The anti-corruption commission some time ago said that certain parties were suspected of regulating the procurement of goods and services. This figure is said to have been appointed by the state administrator who has been named a suspect.

This figure has not been detailed, but the KPK has examined the Chairman of the Semarang City Construction Implementation Association (Gapensi), Martono on Friday, August 2. At that time he was questioned about the arrangement of the allotment which allegedly led to direct appointment in the procurement process.

Previously reported, the KPK began investigating three alleged corruption crimes within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot). The details are the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.

Searches have been carried out in various locations such as in the cities of Semarang, Kudus, Salatiga, and others. From there, documents up to Rp1 billion and 9,650 euros were found as well as dozens of watches allegedly related to the case.

In this case, four people have been prevented from leaving the country for six months. They are Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita who is the Mayor of Semarang, Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java DPRD who is also the husband of Mbak Ita, Alwin Basri; Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) Semarang City, Martono; and Rahmat Djangkar who is a private party.
