Indra Sjafri's Response To The U-20 Indonesian National Team Will Try Out The Location Of The Training Camp At IKN

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, welcomed the plan of his squad which will soon occupy the PSSI training center (TC) location in the State Capital (IKN).

The location of the PSSI TC in the first phase of IKN has been completed and will be inaugurated on October 11, 2024. The U-20 Indonesian national team will be the first team to try out the facility.

Regarding the plan, Indra Sjafri called it a positive step and believed that when he was at IKN, his team's training programs could run well with the facilities there.

"It's good, it's true for the national team, there's no need to ask questions. If possible, as soon as possible (train at IKN), it was made for us. Very good," said Indra Sjafri in his statement in Jakarta quoted on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Before trying out the location of TC at IKN, the Garuda Nusantara Squad will first fight in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers. In the event which will take place at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta, on September 25-29, 2024, Indra Sjafri's team joined in Group F with the Maldives, Yemen, and Timor Leste.

The location of TC PSSI in IKN is built on an area of 34.5 hectares with a budget of FIFA assistance. The field there uses natural and synthetic grass to suit the needs of the Indonesian national team.

In addition to training fields, other facilities such as dormitories are also provided at the location. The dormitory is capable of hosting 138 people with 56 double rooms for players, 20 single rooms for the coaching team, and six suites for the head coach.

The PSSI TC also has supporting facilities, such as rooms for physiotherapy, gyms, and medical treatment.
