Comments On Jorge Martin's Incident At The Emilia Romagna MotoGP, Marc Marquez Calls Bastianini Must Get Punishment
JAKARTA - Gresini Racing racer, Marc Marquez, commented on the incident involving Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini at the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP.
Marquez considered Enea Bastianini worthy of punishment for carrying out aggressive maneuvers.
Bastianini managed to get out as the winner of the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP which took place on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
However, the victory sparked controversy because Bastianini's maneuvers when he followed Jorge Martin on the final lap were considered dangerous.
Bastianini is known to overtake Martin through the inside so Martin is forced to get off track. Bastianini also got off track due to the maneuver, but he managed to be in the leading position to finish line.
Regarding the incident, MotoGP stewards have stated that there is no further investigation. However, Marc Marquez did not agree with the stewards' decision.
"Enea (Bastianini) is also out of the track. For me, if Enea leaves the track, she should also be sentenced to one position," said Marc Marquez as quoted from Crash on Monday, September 23, 2024.

According to Marc Marquez, aggressive maneuvers in MotoGP are often unavoidable. However, the determinant is the motor lane of the rider who performs these maneuvers.
"Because when a rider does an aggressive overtake, but he can stay in the race track, it doesn't matter."
"If the rider leaves the track, that means he should have dropped one position. I don't agree with the existing decision (about the investigation)," said Marc Marquez.
Despite Marquez's comments about this incident, Jorge Martin was able to finish the race in second place, while Marc Marquez finished third.
Jorge Martin is currently at the top of the standings with a collection of 341 points, 24 points ahead of Francesco Bagnaia who is in second place.
