SBY Reveals How To Learn Painting At Partypora 2024

JAKARTA - The Sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) returned on the third day of the event which took place at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Sunday, September 22.

Previously, SBY appeared at the first day of the event by performing his songs as well as other songs from Jamrud, Type-X, NAFF, and Coldplay.

SBY's return is not for singing. The sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia showed his skills in painting on stage. He scratched the brush on the canvas witnessed by many people who filled the Club Stage Club slab area.

While talking to Vincent and Desta as the show's guide, SBY explained how he started to learn to paint.

"I've liked painting since three years and four months (back)," said SBY.

The favorite of painting takes him to learn further. He admitted that he learned a lot from seeing examples on the internet.

"(Learning from) Google aunt and Pakde YouTube," he said.

SBY admitted that he had never studied painting at all through courses with professional painters.

"I've never attended tutoring, just watched YouTube," he said.

On this occasion, SBY decided to draw a view of Mount Lawu located in Central Java.

"I will draw a natural scene in Indonesia. There is one mountain, Mount Lawu in Central Java, from Ponorogo," said SBY.

He gave the painting the title 'Sunset Over Mount Lawu'.

He also revealed his reasons for often drawing beautiful views of Indonesia's nature.

"This is a bit philosophical. In this world there are a lot of problems, but remember that God brings natural beauty to us, in the midst of world uproar," he said.

There is calm there. Everything flows unplanned, planned. Just follow your heart, your feeling. Just want to paint, paint anywhere, don't be afraid. Art is freedom, just dare," he said.
