Bekasi Metro Police Opens Missing Person Service In The Aftermath Of 7 Youth Bodies Found In Jatiasih River

The Bekasi City Metropolitan Police opened a complaint service for missing people due to the discovery of seven teenage boys' bodies in the Bekasi River in the Pondok Gede Permai Housing area, Jatiasih, Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the Bekasi Metro Police, AKP Suparyono, said that the complaint service was opened for residents who felt they had lost their children with the aim of assisting the identification process of the bodies at the Kramatjati Police Hospital.

Head of the Bekasi Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner of Police. Audy Jozie Oroh said that the following services to the complaint post are expected to help the community if there are family members who have not returned home.

"So, if someone from a resident or family has not returned home, they can report it to the ante mortem post that we have opened," he said.

His party is still waiting for the autopsy process for the victim from the Kramatjati Police Hospital while continuing the investigation to reveal the facts that occurred related to the case.

"Investigations are carried out in cross-professional collaboration. So we are not only prioritizing ordinary investigations but implementing scientific crime identification. This process will be carried out in an accountable manner to reveal the facts that occurred," he said.

The day before, residents found seven bodies floating in the Bekasi River, precisely behind the Al Ikhlas Mosque, Pondok Gede Permai Housing RT 004/008, Jatirasa, Jatiasih, Bekasi City at 06.00 WIB and reported to the authorities at 07.00 WIB.

It is suspected that the seven teenagers' bodies were involved in a brawl that jumped into the Bekasi River because they were chased by police officers who were on patrol to prevent the juvenile violence.
