This Group Makes A Three-Paslon Collision Movement In The Jakarta Pilkada, Decides On Golput Even Though The Campaign Hasn't Started Yet

JAKARTA - A group of residents on behalf of the City Poor People's Network (JRMK) made the movement to nominate three pairs of candidates (paslon) for the Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada.

This movement was launched through a demonstration in front of the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) Office, coinciding with the day of taking the third candidate pair for the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

They carried banners with pictures of three candidate pairs, namely Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, and Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana. Wearing pointed bamboo, they stabbed three candidate pairs in banners together.

JRMK Coordinator, Minawati admitted that the three candidate pairs were motivated by feelings of disappointment against all Jakarta governor election candidate pairs. They felt that the three of them did not represent the aspirations of the community.

"Today we are aspirationing the disappointment of the poor in the city or the people of Jakarta, which this year's regional elections do not side with the people or represent the aspirations of the people. Especially in Jakarta, many of our villages have not been resolved," said Minawati in front of the DKI Jakarta KPU, Jalan Salemba Raya, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 23.

Currently, the Jakarta Pilkada campaign period has not yet started. The campaign was only held from September 25 to September 23, 2024. However, JRMK did not want to give the opportunity to accept the candidate pairs to convey the vision and mission that could accommodate their aspirations.

"We have studied the three of them, no one sided with the aspirations of the people. If we agree, or choose one of the candidates, it means that we agree to their fraud," said Minawati.

Minawati claims that the JRMK movement for goalkeepers is the aspiration of 32 villages in Jakarta. However, he did not specify which villages were members of his group.

"In West Jakarta, East Jakarta, there are many North Jakarta. Some are from traders, street vendors," said Minawati.

On that occasion, Minawati emphasized that JRMK's attitude towards Golput did not violate the electoral law because there was no element of coercion. JRMK is only trying to make other people aware that the three candidate pairs do not side with them.

"The right to vote. In that case, we do not force it. We only invite, but do not use coercion. If we use coercion, we give money, we can take action (a punishment). We do not threaten this," he explained.
