KPU Replaces 5 DPR Members Elected From PKB

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia replaces five candidates for DPR members from the National Awakening Party (PKB) who were elected in the 2024 General Election through KPU Decree Number 1349 of 2024, which was determined by KPU Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin.

Determining the Amendment to the Determination of elected candidates for members of the House of Representatives in the 2024 General Election against the National Awakening Party, quoted from a copy of the decision received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Sunday. The decision was made in Jakarta on Friday (20/9).

One of the DPR members who were replaced came from the Riau II electoral district, namely H. Mafirion. He was replaced by Hendri. Mafirion was replaced because he was no longer eligible to become a member of the DPR as a result of being dismissed from the party.

Three other people were also replaced because they were dismissed from the party, such as Mohammad Irsyad Yusuf from the East Java II electoral district (dapil) which was replaced by Anisah Syakur. Then, Ghufron Sirodj from the East Java IV electoral district was replaced by Muhammad Khozin, and Ali Ahmad from the East Java electoral district V was replaced by Rino Lande.

Furthermore, from the Central Java II electoral district, there was Fathan who was replaced by Hindun Anisah. Farhan was replaced because he resigned.

In this regard, Achmad Ghufron Sirodj and Irsyad Yusuf sued the General Chairperson of the PKB Central Board Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin to the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (17/9).

The two PKB legislators, in a statement from their attorneys in Jakarta, Friday (20/9), filed a lawsuit for Cak Imin because the chairman of the PKB DPP was deemed to have acted arbitrarily to fire them, and replace them as elected candidates.

Achmad Ghufron Sirodj's lawsuit is registered with Case Number 566/Pdt.Sus-Parpol/2024/PN.Jkt.Pus, while Irsyad Yusuf's lawsuit is registered with Case Number: 567/Pdt.Sus-Parpol/2024/PN.Jkt.Pus, "said his second attorney, Taufik Hidayat.
