Metro Jaya Police Chief: 7 Men Who Throwed Himself Into The Bekasi River Due To Fear Of Patrols
JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto visited the scene of the discovery of 7 bodies of men who died simultaneously in the Bekasi River, behind the Al Ikhlas Mosque, Pondok Gede Permai housing estate, RT 04/08, Jatirasa Village, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City.
"Yesterday night, information was able to be taken, indeed they threw themselves into the river because of fear and fear, there was a patrol passing by or reprimanding him. We are investigating to what extent," said Inspector General Karyoto to reporters, Sunday, September 22.
Inspector General Karyoto promised that in the investigation process nothing would be covered up and would be carried out transparently.

"We will open up what happened. Because of this, the incidents of brawls in all jurisdictions of the Polda Metro Jaya are quite serious. Many young people have become victims and died (due to brawls)," he said.
Inspector General Karyoto said that a series of deadly brawls often occur throughout Jakarta, namely East Jakarta, South Jakarta, Bekasi and Depok.
"For the next step, we will involve later from the National Police Headquarters Propam, we will also involve and Kompolnas. We will see that if there is an abnormality from who, we will ask for accountability," he said.

The eyewitness admitted that on Saturday, September 21, in the early hours of the morning, he and a number of his friends including 7 victims were in a gathering place beside the Cement factory on the banks of the Bekasi River, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City.
The eye witness told Dwi Septiani who was one of the family of 7 victims who died tragically floating in Kali Bekasi.
According to Dwi Septiani, he had learned that his cousin, whose initials MR had been declared missing (not returning home) on Saturday, September 21, afternoon.
Dwi and the victim's family MR have tried to find MR's whereabouts to the local police station but there is no answer. Then he received information from eyewitnesses who were also friends of the 7 victims who died. According to the witness, the beginning of the incident began when 7 victims and a number of his friends celebrated the birthday of the youth group in Cikunir, Bekasi.
"So his friend had a birthday, then he got together to Cikunir. Then from there he moved to the front of the house. Continue to move again to the side of the river (the location of the incident), then immediately went to the police preces (stacked)," Dwi told reporters while shedding tears at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Sunday, September 22.
Dwi received this valid information from a friend of the victim MR. MR is Dwi's cousin who was found dead in the Bekasi River stream.
"I know from his friend who escaped, who at the time of the incident managed to escape and return home. I just said that he fell into the river (Bekasi River flow). After that, I don't know anymore," he said.
