Huawei Watch GT 5 Becomes First Device With HarmonyOS 5
JAKARTA - Huawei officially announced the launch of the Watch GT 5 series for global subscribers, and the device comes with the HarmonyOS 5.0 operating system. This is interesting because previously, Huawei only released HarmonyOS 4.x for its smartwatch, with the latest version, HarmonyOS 4.2, which comes through software updates.
Thus, Huawei Watch GT 5 became the first smartwatch to run HarmonyOS 5 straight from the box.
This series consists of two models, namely GT 5 and GT 5 Pro, with a size variant of 41mm and 46mm. Both come with various adjustable watch views and themes. Some of these themes are interactive, allowing users to interact directly through the touch screen.
User interface animation (UI) has also increased. In addition, this watch is equipped with a new fitness feature, including Trail run mode that supports segment-based navigation, off-line warnings, contour lines, and a map that can be enlarged using a clock crown.

HarmonyOS 5.0 also presents the Stay Fit application which calculates the calorie deficit and records calorie intake from food. This clock supports more than 100 exercise modes and Activity Rings 2.0 features that provide easy access to users' daily activities.
Other new features include emotional well-being displayed through deep panda animation, supported by TruSense technology, which also provides training recommendations to improve mood.
