Special Staff To The Minister Of Agriculture, Joice Triatman, Examined By The KPK Regarding Xray Procurement

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of Agriculture, Joice Triatman, stated that investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission are being investigated regarding his role in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of xray devices at the Agricultural Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2021 fiscal year.

"Witnesses are present. Investigators are exploring the knowledge and role of witnesses in the procurement of xrays in 2021," said Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Tessa Mahardhika when confirmed in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, September 21.

The examination of Joice Triatman took place on Friday (20/9) at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta.

However, the KPK has not explained what Joice's role in the case is being investigated by the anti-corruption commission.

The KPK on August 12, 2024, began investigating allegations of corruption for the procurement of static xrays, mobile xrays, and xray trailers or containers at the Agricultural Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2021 fiscal year.

Regarding the investigation, the KPK has also coordinated with the Directorate General of Immigration to enforce the prevention of traveling abroad for six months against six Indonesian citizens with the initials WH, IP, MB, SUD, CS, and RF.

Tessa explained that KPK investigators imposed a ban on traveling abroad because the six people needed information in the investigation and had to remain in Indonesian territory in order to fulfill the investigator's summons.

On Wednesday (4/9), the KPK summoned the son of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Kemal Redindo Syahrul Putra (KRSP) as a witness in the investigation into alleged corruption in the procurement of scanners or xrays at the Agricultural Quarantine Agency at the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2021 fiscal year.

The KPK estimates that state losses due to criminal acts of corruption will reach Rp82 billion.

However, Tessa has not been able to disclose further information, such as the number of xray devices. Information that can currently be shared with the public is limited to the potential value of state losses.

When asked about the possible involvement of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Tessa said that this was still being investigated by investigators, considering the alleged criminal act coincided with the SYL period still serving as Minister of Agriculture.

"Investigators can only convey for the time being to investigate," concluded Tessa.
