Lumajang Police Find 10,000 Cannabis Plants Again In The Semeru Slope

LUMAJANG - The Lumajang Resort Police, East Java, found another 10,000 cannabis plants on the slopes of Mount Semeru spread over 16 points and these findings were based on the results of the development of previous cases that found hundreds of cannabis plants.

"Today we found the cannabis plant scattered at 16 points and the sweeping was a follow-up to the previous case. If it is calculated it is around 10,000 sticks," said Lumajang Police Chief AKBP M. Zainur Rofik as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

In addition, during a sweep on the slopes of Mount Semeru, which is the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area in Argosari Village, Senduro District, Lumajang Regency, dried marijuana was also found.

"We also found marijuana which was dry of approximately 10 kilograms. Hopefully the findings are the last and no more, but we are continuing our sweep to find cannabis plants because we see the area may still exist," he said.

Perpetrators plant cannabis plants by not placing them in one bed area, but making plots that aim to trick officers from being monitored and the location is a road that is not traversed by the public in general.

"The perpetrator used an unusual planting pattern because he planted marijuana in the middle of trees and shrubs, so it was not easily known by officers," he said.

Regarding the possibility of adding suspects in the case, Rofik said investigators were still developing the disclosure of the cannabis plant on the slopes of Mount Semeru.

"Meanwhile, we will develop it and if we look at the crime scene (TKP), there may be others planting in the area," he said.

Previously, the Lumajang Police found 453 cannabis plants by arresting two people suspected of being the perpetrators who planted marijuana plants on the slopes of Mount Semeru with the initials P and Y on Wednesday (18/9).

Hundreds of these cannabis plants were found at four points with a plant trunk height of 1.5 to 2 meters which is predicted to be 3-4 months old, so they are ready to harvest.
