Perry Warjiyo: ISEI Recommends To The Government

JAKARTA - Perry Warjiyo, who was re-elected as General Chair of the Indonesian Economic Bachelors Association (ISEI) for the period 2024-2027 at the ISEI Congress in Solo, Central Java, stated that ISEI provides short-term and long-term recommendations to the government.

After being elected through the congress, in Solo, Friday, Perry Warjiyo, who is also the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), said that ISEI provides recommendations for the short term, including downstream food needs to be focused on commodities that help food security, price stabilization, and labor-intensive, such as rice, chilies, shallots.

Meanwhile, in the long term, he said, downstreaming needs to be directed to productivity.

"How trade institutions in the regions, including their financing strategy. The President is grateful for the contribution of policy recommendations from ISEI," he said again.

He said downstreaming in the food sector is important because the sector has a big role, not only to economic growth but also to absorb labor.

"In addition, food security, reduced imports, and sustainable economic growth," he said again.

Asked about the concrete strategy for these tactical measures, he said, ISEI will create a special model.

"So how concrete steps can be, then the commodities can also be expanded, such as adding seaweed, coffee, cocoa," he also said.

In addition, there are several proposed commodities, such as rice, chili, and shallots.

"This needs to be done and how this can create jobs, especially the millennial group. We will follow up on various programs in the future. We will convey it to the central and regional governments," he said.
