The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of South Korean Citizens Who Died After Diving On Komodo Island

LABUAN BAJO - The joint search and rescue team (SAR) evacuated a foreign national (WNA) from South Korea (South Korea) who died after diving (diving) in the waters of Gili Lawa Laut, Komodo National Park (TNK) on September 19, 2024.

"The tourist's name is Park Sung Bae (49) who is male," said Head of the Maumere Basarnas Office, Supriyanto Ridwan, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

He explained, at 15.30 WITA the victim dived at the scene and was reported unconscious after diving.

Seeing the incident, he continued, the crew of the KM Mutiara phinisi ship who brought the victim immediately contacted the joint SAR Team to evacuate the victim.

The joint SAR team that received the report went directly to the location using the main equipment (defense equipment)Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) 500 PK.

"At 17:00 WITA, the joint SAR team ran into KM Mutiara and immediately checked the victim with the results of the victim being declared dead by the medical team," he said.

The victim's body was immediately evacuated by the joint SAR Team to Marina Labuan Bajo Port and arrived at around 17.45 WITA.

"The victim was then taken to Siloam Labuan Bajo Hospital using an ambulance from the Labuan Bajo KKP," he said.
