Semarang Mayor Mbak Ita Called KPK Asks For Additional Funds From The Bapenda Employee Togetherness Contribution
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita asked for additional funds which were then provided from employee togetherness contributions. This money was also enjoyed by her husband, Alwin Basri who is also the Chairman of the D DPRD of Central Java Province.
"The provision of additional funds for the mayor and her husband comes from the coffers of Bapenda employees," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Friday, September 20.
Tessa has not detailed the additional amount of funds requested by Mbak Ita and Alwi. However, he said the collection came from the salaries of civil servants (PNS) within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot).
"The principle of togetherness comes from levies," he said.
As for the request, four witnesses were examined at the Semarang Polrestabes, Central Java on Wednesday, September 18. Tessa said the parties were I, S, BF, and BP who were civil servants.
Meanwhile, from the information gathered, the witnesses were the Head of the Semarang City Bapenda, Indriyasari, Sarifah as the Head of the Semarang City Bapenda Supervision and Development Division, Binawan Febriarto who is the Head of Regional Tax Data Collection and Registration of the Semarang City Bapenda; and the Head of Regional Tax Collection for the Semarang City Bapenda Bambang Prihartono.
