The Ministry Of Trade Encourages Local Governments To Optimize Trade In Superior Commodities
JAKARTA - The Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Moga Simatupang, asked local governments (Pemda) to optimize the trade in superior commodities of each region.
"We hope that regional heads will better understand the characteristics of their respective regions to be able to optimize superior commodity trade," said Moga Simatupang at the Regional Business Forum by the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Surabaya, East Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 19.
Moga said that the optimization of superior commodity trade can be carried out by local governments by initiating trade cooperation between regions so that the distribution is wider.
In addition, it can also be realized by encouraging the facilitation of entrepreneurs or trade missions with other regions and optimizing the use of trade facilities and government programs to streamline commodity distribution.
Meanwhile, most importantly, Moga said, local governments must first map data and information regarding superior commodities, namely between surplus commodities and deficits in each region.
"Regional heads can collect data and develop commodity business spaces in their respective regions," he said.

According to him, these steps will be able to develop the regional leading commodity market which will ultimately boost the economy and the welfare of the community.
Not only that, but Moga also hopes that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the government's strategic partner can help bridge government policies with business activities of business actors, including absorbing the production of farmers, fishermen or breeders in the regions.
"This is to increase trade between regions and maintain price stabilization at the Indonesian producer and consumer levels," he said.
