The National Monument (Monas) is the most popular icon in Jakarta and is one of the most historic places in Central Jakarta. Monas development aims to commemorate and preserve the struggle of the Indonesian nation during the 1945 independence revolution.
Monas development is also a big project from the 1st President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, who spent many years in its construction. In the end Monas was inaugurated by the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Suharto on July 12, 1975 and on the same day it was also opened for public visits.
The Cathedral Church was the first Catholic church in Jakarta to be founded in a weather style building. The inauguration of this place of worship was carried out in 1901 and had a black monument from Belgium in memory of Commissioner General Leonardus Petrus Josephus Burggraaf Du Bus de Gisignies.

Prior to its establishment, the Banteng field was a square used by the elite Batavia in their time to gather, listening to military music on Saturday afternoon.
Reporting from its official website, before becoming the Proclamation Script Forum Museum (Munasprok), this place was used as the official residence of the British Royal consulate. This building was also used as a residence for high-ranking Japanese Navy officer, Rear Admiral Tadashi Maeda.
Rear Admiral Tadashi Maeda allowed his house as a place for the formulation of the text of the proclamation, which on November 24, 1992 was officially used as a museum.
