UK Summons Russian Ambassador Following Allegations Of Spy Diplomat
JAKARTA - The British government summoned the Russian ambassador following allegations against British diplomats in Moscow.
Russia's FSB security service said last week it revoked the accreditation of six British diplomats in Moscow after accusing them of spying and sabotage work, accusations Britain described as crime and completely baseless'.
"This behavioral pattern is completely unacceptable, highly unprofessional, and is below inter-state behavioral standards," a UK Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
"This is the latest development in a deliberate campaign by Russia to undermine and threaten Britain's security and democracy and hinder our support for Ukraine, through disinformation, acts of sabotage in Europe and direct harassment and restrictions on our diplomatic missions in Russia," the British Foreign Ministry continued.
