14 Victims Of Bandung Earthquake Wounds Evacuated To Bedas Hospital

A total of 14 injured victims as a result of the West Java earthquake were evacuated by the joint SAR team to the Bedas Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Bandung Regency for medical treatment.

"Meanwhile, 14 victims were injured and evacuated to the Bedas Hospital," said Basarnas Operations and Training Director Edy Prakoso as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 18.

According to him, data from the joint SAR officer team noted that of the 14 victims, four of them suffered serious injuries due to material collapse by earthquake shocks.

Basarnas confirmed that so far there have been no casualties due to the earthquake.

Bandung SAR Office personnel and the local BPBD Operations Control Center team are still on standby at the scene to collect data and handle the victim's emergency handling, as well as provide assistance on the impact of the damage caused.

Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the epicenter measuring 5.0 magnitude was located on land at a depth of 10 kilometers with coordinates 7.19 LS.107.67 East Longitude, or 24 kilometers from the Southeast of Bandung Regency which was triggered by the activity of the Garsela Fault (South Garret).

BMKG mengkonfirmasi berdasarkan analisa dan laporan masyarakat pada pukul 09.41 WIB, gempa ini dirasakan beberapa saat di sejumlah wilayah di Jawa Barat mulai dari Banjaran (skala intensitas III MMI), Lembang (II-III), Parompong (II-III MMI), Kabupaten Bandung Barat (II-III MMI), Baleendah (II-III MMI), Garut (II-III MMI), Majalaya (III-IV MMI).

BMKG found that there were at least five aftershock activities until 10.10 WIB. The earthquake was declared not to have the potential to cause a tsunami.
