The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Announces The Winner Of The Geothermal WK Auction
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) announced the winner of the 2024 Geothermal Working Area (WKP) auction and the 2024 Preliminary and Exploration Survey Assignment Area (WPSPE) today, Wednesday, September 18.
This announcement coincided with the 10th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition (IIGCE) event at the Jakarta Convention Center.
As for this auction, the total capacity auctioned is 320 Mega Watt (MW) and is worked on by 5 companies with a total of 8 geothermal regions.
In terms of investment, it was agreed on USD 1.82 billion. Through this agreement, the 8 geothermal regions will absorb 1,401 workers.
The following are the details of the geothermal areas that have been successfully auctioned:
1. WPSPE Samosir won by PT Medco Power Indonesia, with a plan to develop or Plan of Development of 40 MW. The amount of investment in this project is worth 228 million US dollars and produces jobs for 175 people.
2. WPSPE Koto Sani Tanjung Kunkung won by PT EDC Indonesia, with PoD of 40 MW. Meanwhile, this project investment is worth 228 million US dollars and produces jobs for 175 people.
3. WKP Cisolok-Cisukarame won by PT Daya Anugerah Sejati Utama, which is one of Sinarmas' subsidiaries with a development plan of 40 MW. The amount of investment is 210.5 million US dollars with jobs for 175 people.
4. WKP Hu'u Daha won by PT Sumbawa Timur Mining, with a development plan of 60 MW. Meanwhile, the investment amount is 404.4 million US dollars with an additional job for 263 people.
5. WKP Nage won by PT Daya Anugerah Sejati Utama with a development plan of 40 MW. Then an investment of 205.7 million US dollars and additional jobs for 175 people.
