BPBD: 9 People Injured In Bandung Earthquake

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Java said that for the time being it was reported that nine people suffered minor injuries due to the earthquake that occurred in Bandung Regency.

Head of Emergency for West Java BPBD Pusdalops, Hadi Rahmat, said that currently his party is still conducting assessments regarding the number of victims and buildings damaged by the 5.0 magnitude earthquake.

"There are no temporary reports of casualties yet, but the information is that nine people were slightly injured," Hadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 18.

BPBD continued Hadi, in coordination with the local BPBD, is currently collecting data on the domicile of victims affected by the earthquake.

"It has not been confirmed. Please wait for the update information," he said.

Based on the West Java BPBD report, the earthquake tremors that occurred at 09.41 WIB were felt starting from Bandung Regency, Bandung City, Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, Garut Regency, and almost all of West Java.

The earthquake, which felt only for a few seconds, made residents in the Greater Bandung area panic.

"The earthquake was felt strong for 3-5 seconds. People panicked and had time to leave the house. We urge you to calm down and find a safe place," he said.

The location of the earthquake occurred in Tarumajaya Village, Cihawuk, Cibereum, Paperari District, Bandung Regency.

From temporary data, this earthquake resulted in damage to a unit of health facilities in Cihawuk Village, a unit of health facilities in Cibereum Village, the Police Office in Cibereum Village and a KUA office in Cibereum Village.
