5.0 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Bandung Regency

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 rocked the Bandung Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, September 18 at 09.41 WIB.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that the location of the earthquake was 24 kilometers southeast of Bandung Regency or 7.19 south latitude (LS) and 107.67 east longitude (BT) at a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to the BMKG, this earthquake has no potential for a tsunami.

However, residents are advised to remain careful about aftershocks that may occur.

Earlier on Sunday, September 15, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 rocked the Sukabumi region, West Java. The earthquake was also felt in Bandung.
