Bawaslu: There Are 400 Reports Of Alleged Violations Of ASN Netrality

JAKARTA - The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) revealed that there were 400 reports of alleged violations of the neutrality of the state civil apparatus received up to the registration stage of the head and deputy head candidates, namely 27 to 29 August 2024.

"There have been more reports than if I'm not mistaken, 400, which are then being followed up," said Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 17.

Bawaslu reminded reports related to violations of ASN neutrality need to be anticipated because they are the third election vulnerabilities based on the election vulnerability index released by Bawaslu.

The first vulnerability is money politics, and the second is the neutrality of election organizers.

Reports of non-neutral ASN in the 2024 Pilkada have the potential to increase compared to the 2024 General Election due to close relations between ASN and regional head candidates or deputy heads.

"And also the proximity of the regional level is closer than during the national election, both legislative elections and presidential elections," he explained.

According to Bagja, a number of areas that have a high vulnerability to reports of ASN neutrality are several areas in Papua, East Java, Central Java, and the Special Region of Jakarta.

Sanctions for non-neutral ASN during the 2024 Pilkada stage will be given by the State Civil Service Agency. He said that sanctions could be in the form of dismissal from office to dismissal.

"Now we will see later from the reports of friends from the State Civil Service Agency because those who will carry out the next implementation are BKN friends, not Bawaslu. Bawaslu handles violations," he said.

Based on the schedule for the 2024 Pilkada stage, after registration, the next stage is the determination of the candidate pair which will be held on September 22, 2024. Furthermore, from September 25 to November 23, 2024, the candidate pairs are scheduled to campaign.

Then on November 27, 2024, it became the voting day for the 2024 Pilkada, and continued with the counting and recapitulation of vote count until December 16, 2024.
