SOEs Spend IDR 2 Trillion To Build Indonesian Sharia Finance Areas

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that the capital for the construction of two buildings that are part of the Indonesia Islamic Financial Center (IIFC) reached IDR 2 trillion.

The details are the capital for the construction of the Danareksa Tower Building of Rp. 980 billion, and the Indonesian Sharia Bank (BSI) Tower of Rp. 1.1 trillion.

"Incidentally, we have assets that we can maximize these two assets. These two assets have an investment of Rp. 2 trillion, sir," said Erick in front of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at the inauguration of IIFC, at Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 17.

In front of Jokowi, Erick also revealed that the two buildings that became the IIFC area were selling well. This is marked by almost 100 percent of the building rental.

"And God willing, not only building the building, but thank God it is also safe, sir. Because 95 percent (Dara Danareksa) has been rented, if the one next to (BSI Tower) is 100 percent rented, sir," he explained.

Therefore, Erick admitted that his party wanted to reorganize the Monas area in collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Where the four sides of the Monas want to be transformed into a business quarter, residential quarter, commercial quarter, and ceremonial quarter areas.

"So at that time we tried to think about discussing with the Acting Governor of DKI, so that this area was reorganized," said Erick.

Previously, it was reported that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had just inaugurated the Indonesia Financial Islamic Center. He said this area would encourage the development of the sharia economy in the country.

In addition, said Jokowi, this Indonesia Financial Islamic Center area will also support the halal industry, Muslim fashion, halal tourism, and the halal food and beverage industry.

"This will be supported by everyone. So that the existing potential cannot be separated from running to other areas or to other countries.
