Tourists Visiting Mount Bromo During The Prophet Muhammad's Maulid Holiday Reaches 9,061 People

JAKARTA - The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (BB TNBTS) noted that the number of tourist visits to Mount Bromo during the long holiday commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad SAW reached 9,061 people.

Head of the TNBTS BB Public Relations Evaluation Data Team Hendra Wisantara said the visit figure was an accumulation of calculations carried out from Saturday, September 14 to Monday, September 16.

"The number of visits on Saturday was a total of 2,006 people, Sunday 4,266 people, and Monday 2,789 people," said Hendra as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 16.

BB TNBTS noted that tourists who visit not only come from within the country, but also abroad.

On Saturday, he said, of the 2,006 people, around 55 were foreign tourists and 1,951 others were domestic or domestic tourists.

Furthermore, on Sunday, of the 4,266 people, 58 were foreign tourists who came to Mount Bromo and 4,208 were local travelers.

"Monday, there are 2,741 domestic tourists, and 48 foreign tourists, a total of 2,789 people," he said.

Hendra said the total visit included the addition of quotas from the TNBTS BB which were carried out at a certain time.

"The addition occurred on September 15-16, valid after visitors who had entered the area gradually descended and left the area. Normally, it was at 2,752 people per day," he said.

When compared with the long holiday of Eid al-Fitr, namely on June 15-18, the number of tourist visits to Mount Bromo during the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday was higher.

On Eid al-Fitr, the number of visits was 8,169 people, consisting of 7,951 local tourists and 218 others were foreign tourists.

Based on BB TNBTS records, the number of tourist visits to Mount Bromo throughout 2023 reached 368,507 people, consisting of 355,297 domestic tourists and 13,210 foreign tourists.

The visit gave Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) worth IDR 14.70 billion.
