Broken In Banten, West Java And East Java, KIM Plus Solidity In Jakarta Pilkada Is Questioned
JAKARTA TSRC Executive Director Yayan Hidayat highlighted the solidity of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada after the issuance of Constitutional Court Decision (MK) Number 60 of 2024 concerning the threshold for the nomination of Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads.
This is because the Constitutional Court's decision has changed the political constellation as well as made political parties that are members of KIM Plus recalculate their chances in the 2024 Pilkada, including Jakarta.
"The Constitutional Court's decision to open the faucet for participation and directly change the political constellation of Pilkada, including Jakarta. The ambition of a large coalition such as KIM Plus to dominate is hindered by the Constitutional Court's Decision," he said, Monday, September 16, 2024.
Moreover, Ridwan Kamil's candidacy in the Jakarta Pilkada has also sparked controversy, with many trying to uncover his past digital footprint. In addition, Yayan continued, the issue of primordialism between supporters of Viking and Jakmania football was used by several groups to influence public opinion.
"This makes the parties on KIM Plus look like they are starting to count again in providing full support to the couple Ridwan Kamil and Suswono. One indicator that we can see is Sahroni's resignation as chairman of the winning team, which I think shows there is communication internally that has not been completed," he explained.
Yayan said that KIM Plus's non-solidities in several areas, such as Banten, West Java and East Java, would affect the solidity of the coalition in the Jakarta Pilkada, which remains the epicenter and center of national political attention even though it is not the nation's capital.

In addition, Gerindra's full support for Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta Pilkada is still questionable. According to Yayan, the party led by Prabowo Subianto seems to be more focused on supporting their cadre, Dedi Mulyadi, in the West Java gubernatorial election.
Gerindra may feel that it has achieved its goal in West Java (forwarding RK to Jakarta), where Dedi Mulyadi's electability increased after Ridwan Kamil moved to the Jakarta Pilkada. These various dynamics, which I think KIM Plus seems to face serious challenges in achieving solidity, both in Jakarta and in other areas," Yayan said.
