Hashim Djojohadikusumo Once Called Ahok Don't Know Tata Krama Imbas Leave Gerindra
JAKARTA Memories of today, 10 years ago, September 15, 2014, Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees, Hashim Djojohadikusumo emphasized that the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) left the party as a disgraceful step. He considered Ahok not to know manners.
Previously, Ahok's relationship with the Gerindra Party was known to be intimate. The Gerindra Party was once Ahok's vehicle to become Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta. Later the relationship was disrupted. Ahok felt no longer supervisory with Gerinda and resigned.
Nothing lasts forever in Indonesian politics. Today is a friend, tomorrow will be an opponent. Ahok and the Gerindra Party experienced this condition in the 2012 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election. In the past, Gerindra had praised Ahok's actions as a politician.
The Gerindra Party even promoted Ahok as a cadre who accompanied the candidate for Cagub from the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDIP), Joko Widodo (Jokowi). PDIP-Gerindra believe their candidate can be qualified against other candidates in the political contestation.
Even though other candidates are supported by a fat coalition of parties. Dewi Fortuna also approached Jokowi-Ahok until he qualified as Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta. This victory made Ahok proof of Gerindra cadres visiting the government.
Gerindra often defends Ahok's policies. Vice versa. Later Ahok no longer did this. The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta felt that he was no longer on the same side with Gerindra. Ahok was disappointed with Gerindra's political steps in supporting the proposed regional head to be elected by the DPRD.
Ahok feels that the Gerindra Party is like denying the constitution. As a result, there is nothing that makes Ahok have to stay in Gerindra. Ahok also expressed his intention to leave Gerindra. This desire was tried to be challenged by other Gerindra cadres.
Ahok answered the challenge. He officially resigned to Gerindra on September 10, 2014.
"I have officially resigned from Gerindra. Since I entered this letter, I am no longer a political party person. For me, the Gerindra Party is no longer in accordance with my struggle to give the people the best choice," Ahok said at Jakarta City Hall as quoted by Kompas.com, September 10, 2014.
Ahok's departure from Gerindra also left a mark. Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, considered Ahok's attitude as a disgraceful move on September 15, 2014. Prabowo Subianto's younger brother revealed that Ahok did not know his manners.

Instead of taking a good step back, Ahok actually shocked his resignation to the mass media. Hashim also hopes that other Gerindra cadres will not follow in Ahok's footsteps. Because Ahok is considered the worst example of a politician.
"I hope that young politicians do not follow Ahok's footsteps in his behavior like this. I hope other young politicians are good people, know good manners and political ways. If you want to resign, say goodbye well. Not goodbye after resigning. That's a good way according to Indonesian customs and good politicians' norms around the world.
"I think that's the case. It's unethical to just talk in the press, party members must discuss first. Politicians' capital is vote capital and pen capital. That's the politician's capital," said Hashim as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, September 15, 2014.
