President Jokowi Launches The Wanagama Nusantara Education Forest At IKN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has launched a forest for the education and research of Wanagama Nusantara in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

Wanagama is an educational forest managed by the Faculty of Forestry, Gajah Mada University (UGM).

Based on data from UGM, quoted via Antara, Friday, September 13, Wanagama Nusantara has an area of 621 hectares, with an initial stage of 28 hectares.

In the declaration event, the President, among others, planted the Tengkawang tree, signed the Wanagama Nusantara declaration monument to release the bird.

Also attending to accompany the President on the occasion were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.

In addition, the Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, as well as UGM academic community.
