Russia's Sputnik V Vaccine Will Be Produced In China, How Come?
JAKARTA - China plans to mass-produce the COVID-19 vaccine made in Russia, namely Sputnik V. This was revealed after Russia chose to cooperate with China.
It is planned that China will produce about 60 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine in May. This information was disclosed by the Russian side through RDIF as quoted by Reuters.
According to RDIF, it has agreed to cooperate with Shenzen Yuanxing Genetech Co. to produce the Sputnik V vaccine. The cooperation aims to increase the production capacity due to high global demand.
"(The cooperation with Chinese companies) will increase the capacity to provide additional quantities as we see an increase in demand for Russian vaccines globally", said Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of RDIF, as quoted by Sputnik News, Tuesday, March 30.

Currently, the Sputnik V vaccine is the second vaccine in the world to be certified and approved by 57 countries. Based on research results, the Sputnik V vaccine has an efficacy rate of 91.6 percent against COVID-19 and its mutations.
Even so, France had accused Russia of saying that the vaccine was used as a tool to spread its message and influence.
Suddenly this accusation was denied by the Kremlin by saying that Russia and China did not use the vaccine as a moment to seek influence in the geopolitical arena.
