Agus Gumiwang Waits For Prabowo's Direction After He Is No Longer The Minister Of Industry
JAKARTA - Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita admitted that he would no longer serve as Minister of Industry (Menperin) of the Republic of Indonesia in the era of the elected President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This was revealed after Agus said goodbye to Commission VII of the DPR RI during a working meeting (Raker) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, September 12.
So, what will the Minister of Industry do after President-elect Prabowo is sworn in on October 20?
When asked by VOI about this, Agus seemed to laugh at it.
He said the full rights were in the elected president.
"We leave that entirely to Mr. Prabowo," he said with a laugh.
When further confirmed whether there were ministries he had looked at, Agus admitted that he did not know and only joked.
"Oh I don't know. Look into your eyes that's dangerous," he said.
Meanwhile, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has been Minister of Industry for a period of President Jokowi's administration or since 2019.
The man who was born in Jakarta, January 3, 1969, is the second child of a ministerial couple in the Soeharto era, Ginandjar Kartasasmita and Yultin Harlotina.
He spent his teenage years in New York and Massachusetts, United States.
Agus attended Williston Northampton High School, then continued his studies at Northeastern University, United States, in 1987-1991.
Reporting from the Agusgumiwang page, he then returned to Indonesia and continued his master's degree education at Pasundan University (UNPAS), Bandung, in the field of Masters Administration in 2007.
In 2010, Agus took a study of the Doctoral Program for Government Sciences at Padjadjaran University (Unpad) Bandung.
His brilliant background became the capital of his career as President Director of PT Agumar Eka (1994'1999) and Commissioner of PT Asiana Lintas Development since 2012.
It is known that Agus began to enter politics by actively joining several mass organizations, one of which was the Indonesian Renewal Youth Force (AMPI).
He started a political career with the Golkar Party, just like his father. At Golkar, Agus held several important positions, such as being the chairman of the Golkar Party's DPP for Foreign Relations & Defense for West Java and Banten Regional Security in 2004.

The peak of his career was when he was appointed Minister of Social Affairs by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during the first term of leadership, namely 2018-2019.
Then, in the second period, Jokowi again appointed Agus as Minister of Industry (Menperin) in 2019-2024.
