Google Search Now Links Archive Web Pages In The Internet Archive

JAKARTA Google Search search results will look more diverse because they are integrated with an Internet Archive archived web page. This collaboration began to be displayed in search results on September 11.

This integration was successfully carried out after Google entered into a partnership with the Internet Archive, a nonprofit research library developed to store websites. In this partnership, Google can use Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

Pages on Wayback Machine will be linked to Google Search search results to make it easier to straighten onto old websites. According to Google, this collaboration will provide a faster starting context for websites for Search users.

"Many people, including those in the research community, appreciate the ability to view previous versions of the web page when available. That's why we added links to Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to the 'About this page' feature," Google said, quoted from 9to5google.

Meanwhile, Director of Wayback Machine Mark Graham said that Internet Archive's technology has been storing websites that have been digital ghosts for 25 years. Even though it has never been visited, this website may be visible again thanks to Search.

"Now, with just one click from Google's search results, open the portal to a more complete and richer website that remembers what others have forgotten," said Graham.

To view the Wayback Machine link, Google Search users only need to search as usual. After that, click the three-dot icon on each search result until a panel About This Result appears. On the panel, click More Information about This Page until the link to the Wayback Machine page opens.
