PWI Center Holds Journalist Competency Test (UKW) In Jakarta, September 28-29

JAKARTA - The Central PWI Journalist Competency Test Institute (LUKW) invited PWI members who do not yet have a journalist competency certificate to take the Journalist Competency Test (UKW) on 28-29 September 2024 in Jakarta. Director of LUKW PWI Pusat, Dr. Firdaus Komar, M.Si, emphasized that this UKW is an opportunity for members who have not had time to take the competency test. With the permission of the General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, this UKW is opened to eligible members," said Firdaus at the PWI Secretariat, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11.

On this occasion, Firdaus also handed over the PWI LUKW guidebook to the Head of the Central PWI Education Division, Dr. Suprapto Sastro Atmojo, who is also the Chairman of the Press Council Publisher Rights Committee. This book has been officially received by the Chairman of the Press Council, Dr. Ninik Rahayu, as part of LUKW PWI's commitment to journalism professionalism.

UKW-related notification letters have been sent to all PWI members through regional administrators. The participant registration is done online by scanning the barcode listed in the letter.

The General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, stated that preparations for the implementation of UKW had been completed. This activity will be held at the Central PWI office, Press Council Building, Fourth Floor, Central Jakarta.

To take part in UKW, prospective participants must submit an official application to LUKW PWI and take part in pre-UKW training according to the set standards. The cost of implementing UKW and consumption will be borne by the Central PWI, but participants must bear the transportation and accommodation costs themselves. All participants are expected to comply with the applicable rules during the activity.
