SUKABUMI - Eleven residents of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, are suspected of being victims of a criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO). They are reportedly being held captive in a conflict area in Myanmar.

The video uploaded by @txtdarisukabumi, quoted by VOI.ID, the victims were seen sitting in a room and gathered while occasionally lowering their heads until they asked to be sent home to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the elected president Prabowo Subianto.
"We asked for and asked for help. We are victims of TIP, a total of 11 people and we were held captive for about 2 weeks. Eating us too once a day, their food files," said one who videoed.
"We ask to immediately evacuate us. TIP victims in Myanmar, precisely in the Miyawaki area," he added.
Chairman of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) of the Sukabumi DPC, Jejen Nurjanah, said that the total number of arrested victims recorded by SBMI was around 11 residents of Sukabumi Regency.
The victims of the TIP departed for Thailand using a visit visa, but after arriving in the country, they were transferred to Myanmar.
"Obviously this is TIP because he is dispatched with the lure of a large salary, working in Thailand. His job is to become an admin of one of the companies," said Jejen, Thursday, September 12.
Jejen said that the TIP victim case had reached the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and even SBMI received news that the victims were now being held captive in conflict areas in Myanmar which was very difficult to return.
"The conflict country, while the Indonesian Embassy does not have the authority to take its citizens to their place of origin and is also very dangerous, because there the most powerful are rebels whose risk may be very high according to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that is at stake," he said.
Meanwhile, one of the families of the victims of TIP Dania Ramadhan (23 years) said that initially there was a friend of his uncle who invited him to work in Thailand with the lure of a large salary. However, now the family has received news that his uncle is in Myanmar in a state of detention.
"If he first invited him to Thailand, but he had been moved to Myanmar for a long time. At first he worked at the factory, but there was no clear information on where he worked," said Dania.
