Chery Tiggo 9 Ready To Challenge Kia Sorento And Hyundai Santa Fe At Australian Market
JAKARTA Chery is getting serious about facing competition in the SUV segment by bringing its flagship model, Chery Tiggo 9, to the Australian market. The car is projected to be a formidable competitor to Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe who have been popular in the local market.
Reporting from Drive, Tuesday, September 10, this assurance was revealed by Australia's Chief Operating Officer Chery, Lucas Harris, who confirmed the presence of Tiggo 9 in Australia. Although there is no further information regarding the price, this model is predicted to be priced higher than Tiggo 8 Pro Max, which is currently selling for 41,990 Australian dollars (around Rp423 million). Tiggo 9 is expected to sell for around 47,990 Australian dollars (around Rp494 million).

Chery Tiggo 9 which is scheduled to launch next year will most likely be equipped with a 2.0 liter turbo gas engine, similar to the one used in the Tiggo 8 Pro Max, but with an update on its automatic transmission. In addition, Tiggo 9 is also predicted to be present in a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant that combines a 2.0 liter turbo gas engine with 385 Nm power and an electric motor with a capacity of 165 kW.
It doesn't stop there, Chery also plans to offer a 1.5 liter hybrid variant with extraordinary cruising power that is claimed to be able to cover a distance of up to 1,400 km with full fuel and fully charged batteries. This is certainly a huge added value for consumers who seek fuel efficiency without compromising performance.
Tiggo 9 offers a very luxurious and modern interior, including a 15.6-inch large touch screen with a resolution of 2.5K and a 10.25-inch instrument panel. To increase the comfort of drivers and passengers, the SUV is also equipped with 14 stereo speakers from Sony and a seat with massage features that will provide a premium driving experience.
In the Chinese market, Tiggo 9 has been launched since last June with prices starting from 152,900 yuan (around Rp. 332 million). Its presence in the international market, including the possibility of entering Indonesia, will certainly be highly anticipated by automotive lovers in the country.
