Justin Hubner: We Are Not Worth Losing Against Australia

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Australia in the second match of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 19.00 WIB.

Garuda's squad player is not at all afraid of the big name Socceroos. One of the players who made fun of him was Justin Hubner.

The defender emphasized that he would take revenge for the 2023 Asian Cup. At that time, the Indonesian national team was eliminated in the round of 16 after losing 0-4 to Australia.

Hubner also emphasized that actually the Garuda squad at that time was not worthy of defeat. If the final settlement is slick, Indonesia will certainly silence Australia.

"During the last match (against Australia) in the 2023 Asian Cup, I think in the first half we played well. We didn't deserve to lose!"

"We just can't score goals (so we lose). We are ready to face Australia. We have nothing to worry about," said the 20-year-old player.

The confidence of the Wolverhampton Wanderers player was supported by the careful preparation of the Indonesian national team.

Moreover, Shin Tae-yong's team had valuable provisions from the first match when they got one point against Saudi Arabia.

"I think Australia is a very strong country, but so are we. We are not afraid of anyone, we will fight. Our preparations are good."

"With good preparation, we are optimistic that we can show the best performance. All players will do everything on the field to win."

"We are growing a lot, we got some new players in the team. Our level is also increasing very rapidly. Now we have a lot of quality players in the team," said Justin Hubner.

Currently, the Indonesian national team is in fourth place in Group C standings with 1 point from 1 match. Above it is Japan (3 points), Bahrain (3 points), and Saudi Arabia (1 point). Then, Australia and China are in fifth and sixth place without points.
