Minister Of Transportation Budi Offers Foreigners To Manage IKN Airport
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi opens opportunities for overseas airport operators to manage airports in the capital cities of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, and Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport, Sepinggan, Balikpapan.
Budi said that the operator of this overseas airport can cooperate with the operator of the domestic airport, Angkasa Pura Indonesia to manage the two airports.
Furthermore, Budi believes the presence of this overseas airport operator can help to increase airport competitiveness in Indonesia.
"So Balikpapan could be for domestically, internationally at IKN. We are talking, so we are with foreign (operators) and Aangkasa Pura manage the two airports," he said in Sarinah, Jakarta, written Tuesday, September 10.
Budi said this plan is still in the process of being studied. Even so, Budi admitted that he had offered the concept of airport management between Angkasa Pura Indonesia and the operator of this foreign airport to SOE Minister Erick Thohir.
"But indeed with the IKN airport which is 3,000 long, Balikpapan which is 2,400 is also long. So, and the Hajj and Umrah centers in Kalimantan can be there," he explained.
