DPR Hajj Special Committee: Verificator Hajj Admits There Is An Intervention From A High-ranking Officer
Member of the House of Representatives' Hajj Special Committee (Pansus) Marwan Jafar said the Hajj verification team on the agenda of the Public Hearing Meeting (RDPU) stated that they received intervention from relevant officials, namely the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).
"Are the verifiers indeed independent or have intervention from superiors, and after we asked them, they answered that there was intervention from their superiors," said Marwan Jafar on the sidelines of the RDPU agenda with the 2024 Hajj verification team.
According to him, this case must continue to be monitored even if necessary to summon law enforcement to be able to jointly review the problems that occurred in Hajj activities in 2024 and also in previous years.
"We must have the courage to summon law enforcers together to review, the implementation of Hajj in 2024 and the previous year even," he said.
He continued that this case is the peak of the iceberg that occurs in Hajj activities that have been carried out every year. He also believes that there were similar problems in the previous year.
"It's very (holiday activities last year also have the same indication), this is just the tip of the iceberg," he said.
