Curanmor Increases In Tangerang, Metro Police Prepares Timsus
TANGERANG - From police data, the theft case has increased over the past two months in Tangerang City. Due to this increase, the Tangerang City Metro Police have now formed a special team (Timsus) involving the Satreskrim Opsnal Team and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sector Police in uncovering cases and increasing cases of this case.
"During the two months of the July and August 2024 periods as a result of the investigation, we arrested 50 suspects from 127 locations within the jurisdiction of the Tangerang City Metro Police," said Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Zain Dwi Nugroho in his statement in Tangerang, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 7th.
The roles of the 50 suspects who were arrested consisted of 25 people acting as pickers (executives) of 21 people playing Joki and 4 collectors of this theft crime.
The police chief added that these suspects are a network or local group of Tangerang, Lebak, Pandeglang and Lampung. Perpetrators operate randomly looking for targets of theft.
Evidence from 50 suspects is one homemade rifle, one sharp weapon, two cars (R4), 32 motorbikes (R2), the letter T and Y keys along with the key, five cellphones, CCTV footage of the perpetrator's crime at the TKP and 12 STNK.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code, violent theft, Article 363 of the Criminal Code, weighted theft, Article 480 of the Criminal Code and Article 1 paragraph (1) and Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a maximum imprisonment of 12 (twelve) years.
The police chief said that later the Timsus formed would map the area and also increase field supervision through patrols and others.

In addition, the Police also appealed to the public to increase awareness regarding cases of motor vehicle theft that are rife today.
The modus operandi is carried out, among others, threatening to use firearms (senpi), breaking the motorcycle lock using the letter T and Y keys, and claiming to be a leasing party with fake assignment letter.
"People who have motorized vehicles, both R4 and R2, to put the vehicle in a safe place and always use double keys," he said.
The police chief also emphasized that his party would not hesitate to take measured decisive action against the perpetrators of theft who were troubling the public.
One of the disclosures of the busy theft case occurred on Friday (2/8) then at around 09.00 WIB. The police took measured decisive action against the suspect with the initials I alias G (died) for resisting using firearms when he was about to be arrested.
