Trump's Family's X Account Hacked, Promotes Fake Crypto Tokens
JAKARTA - On Tuesday night, Lara Trump and Tiffany Trump's X accounts were reportedly hacked by unknown parties. Hackers used the account to promote fake crypto tokens linked to Trump's family's new crypto project, World Liberty Financial. This incident raised great concerns among crypto users, given the influence and reach of Trump's family on social media platforms.
In the hack, hacked accounts spread messages inviting followers to invest in fake crypto tokens claimed to be the only official token of World Liberty Financial. Message posted by Lara Trump's account even mentions: Our goal in World Liberty is to use our governance token in Solana, $WL, to support our DeFi loan protocol.
However, not long after, World Liberty Financial confirmed that the accounts had been hacked. They warned the public through an official statement: Account X Lara Trump and Tiffany Trump have been hacked. Please don't click on any links or buy the tokens promoted from the profile. They also said that their team was trying to overcome this situation and asked the public to be aware of this kind of fraud.

Although the scam messages lasted only a while, hackers had provided detailed information regarding blockchain addresses and fake tokens that were touted as official tokens from Trump's project. In a short time, platform X managed to secure Lara and Tiffany's accounts to prevent further abuse. Eric Trump also wrote on his Twitter account: Twitter acted extraordinary and managed to lock the LaraLeaTrump and TiffanyATrump accounts in a matter of minutes
The hack comes just hours after details of Trump's family crypto project were revealed to the public. The project, called World Liberty Financial, was previously known as The DeFiant Ones, which aims to create a decentralized financial platform (DeFi) with a focus on loans and loans.
Donald Trump himself, in a video posted on August 29, announced his support for the project. In the video, Trump expressed his commitment to making the United States a "world crypto center" and against barriers that could hinder crypto-based business development in the US.
Apart from Donald Trump, the project also involves other family members such as Eric, Donald Jr., and Barron Trump, who are projected to take on an important role in the development of the platform. The project's White paper revealed that Donald Trump will be the main crypto supporter in the initiative, while a new token called WLFI is being prepared for launch, although its official release date has not yet been announced.
