A Number Of Mass Organizations Urge Muslims To Be Alert To The Propaganda Agent Movement
Circulating a letter from the Director General of Post and Information Administration of the Ministry of Communication and Information Number: B-2026 / DJPPI / HM.05.08 / 09/2024, dated September 2, 2024, signed by Wayan Toni Supriyanto as the Director General of Post and Information Administration caused a commotion among Islamic organizations.
In the letter, instructing all President Directors of Broadcasting Institutions and Chair of the Association and Association of Broadcasting Institutions to have the Mass event chaired by Pope Francis on September 5, 2024 starting at 17.00 p.m. and at 19.00 p.m. broadcast live and unbroken on all national television.
"We strongly protest the letter and the attitude of the Ministry of Communication and Information which ordered all broadcasting institutions to change the call to announcement in the form of running text," said Chairman of the DPP Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI), Aziz Yanuar to VOI, Wednesday, September 4.
Islamic organizations belonging to FPI, GNPFU and PERSADA 212 expressed strong protests over the Director General of Postal and Informatics Organization of the Ministry of Communication and Information.
"We urge the Director General of PPI of the Ministry of Communication and Information to immediately revoke the letter within 1x24 hours," he said.
In addition, Islamic organizations who are members of FPI, GNPFU and PERSADA 212 also respectfully request all national broadcasting, radio and television institutions not to comply with the contents of the letter of the Director General of PPI.

"We ask Muslims to stand alert and increase awareness of attacks by heretical doctrines and teachings by anti-Muslim parties who want to remove Islamic law in a subtle and covert manner, both by parties in the regime and their propaganda agents," he said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Post and Information Administration Wayan Toni Supriyanto said that Kominfo would not require all television broadcasters to change the azan Magrib broadcast to running text.
Wayan emphasized that in accordance with what was written in the application letter from the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), there is no obligation for broadcasting institutions to replace the azan Maghrib broadcast with running text.
"There is nothing to do, the word can be used (according to the Ministry of Religion's letter) meaning it is submitted to a broadcasting institution," Wayan confirmed to VOI on Wednesday, September 4.
