Residents Can See Pope Francis At The Vatican Embassy From A Distance Of 50 Meters
JAKARTA - Residents can see firsthand the arrival of Pope Francis upon arrival of the Vatican Holy See Embassy on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Gambir, Central Jakarta, from a distance of 50 meters.
"Yes, of course we hope it doesn't interfere. We hope that at least up to a radius of 50 meters it can be seen by Pope Francis," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro Tuesday, September 3.
Susatyo appealed to residents to remain calm and not to create crowds that could disrupt the arrival of Pope Francis' entourage. If the crowd begins, the police will break the masses.
"Of course we will carry out security, of course it will not interfere with the route of the series of greatness from Mr. Pope Francis so that we will resolve the masses who will come to this location," said Susatyo.
Regarding traffic flow, said Susatyo, currently it is still normal and is still situational by looking at the route used by Pope Francis' entourage.
"Later we will see the route used by Pope Francis, whether the route will use the Sudirman route or routes that have been prepared by traffic levels," said Susatyo.
The police deployed 545 joint personnel to guard the Vatican Embassy, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Central Jakarta, during Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia on September 3-6, 2024.
Pope Francis is scheduled to make an apoltolic trip to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste and Singapore on September 2-13, 2024.
Indonesia became the first country in a series of visits by Pope Francis to the Asia Pacific region, namely from 3 to 6 September 2024.
Then the Pope continued his visit to Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and Vanimo from 6-9 September 2024, Dili (Timor Leste) from 9-11 September 2024 and Singapore from 11-13 September 2024.
