Jokowi Asks LDII To Support The Prabowo-Gibran Government

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute to support and contribute to the new government led by President-elect Prabowo Subianto and the elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute (LDII) Chriswanto Santoso after meeting President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Jakarta.

"Then we asked for his instructions, his directive was that he asked LDII to support the new government later. Participate in participating, and even contribute to the new government," said Chriswanto when giving a press statement at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, quoted by ANTARA Tuesday, September 3.

Chriswanto said President Joko Widodo's directive to support the next government was because it was sustainable with the previous government.

He said that there is a continuous commitment from the next government so that LDII can contribute more and play a role in it.

"So that LDII also plays a more role in it, it shows more contribution so that if this can be done together with the strength of mass organizations, political forces, God willing, our hope will be more optimal in implementing it," he said.

Therefore, President Jokowi also asked the LDII management to appear before the Minister of Defense and President-elect Prabowo Subianto in the near future to discuss the commitment to support.

"We will be asked to face the Minister of Defense in the near future. As President-elect, we will continue. And God willing, this has been arranged for us to be able to get it," said Chriswanto.

The President also asked the LDII management to socialize the importance of maintaining security stability because development cannot run without this.

During the meeting, the Head of State did not forget to express his appreciation for LDII's assistance as a community organization in collaborating with the authorities in all fields.
