Pope Francis' Simplicity In Indonesia: Riding The Kijang Innova And Maung Made Locally
JAKARTA - The Supreme Leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, is making a historic visit to Indonesia on religious and state missions from September 3 to 6, 2024. During his meaningful visit, Pope Francis chose simplicity by using Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix as his main vehicle, leaving the choice of luxury cars that are usually used by world leaders.
In addition, the Maung tactical vehicle made by PT Pindad, which is often a mainstay in major events, was also reported to be used during the visit. Maung's car, which looked dashing, had stolen attention on social media after the photos circulated. The car looks elegant with its distinctive white color and high roof design, as well as the writing 'SCV 1' which confirms its status as the Pope's official vehicle. Previously, Maung was also used to deliver the red and white flag in the procession of the 79th Anniversary ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia.
As previously reported by VOI, Indonesia will be the first country visited by Pope Francis in this series of trips to Asia and the Pacific, from 3 to 6 September 2024.
Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia is the third time for a whale. Previously, Pope Santo Paulus VI visited December 3-4, 1970, followed by Pope Santo John Paul II on October 9-14, 1989. After 35 years, the pope returned to visit Indonesia in a series of Pope Francis' apotheists journey.
