Jokowi Assigns Bahlil To Explore Litium Mining Cooperation In Zimbabwe

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo gave the task to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia to explore cooperation in lithium mining in Zimbabwe.

This was revealed by Jokowi during a bilateral meeting with Zimbabwean Vice President Kembo Dugish Campbell Muleya Mohadi in Casablanca Room, Mulia Nusa Dua Bali Hotel, on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Jokowi said, Indonesia is currently exploring cooperation in lithium mining in Zimbabwe. According to the President, he will assign Bahlil Lahadalia to accelerate the finalization of a memorandum of understanding regarding this matter.

Not only in the mining sector, cooperation also wants to establish cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

Meanwhile, regarding development cooperation, Jokowi emphasized Indonesia's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Zimbabwe through programs adapted to the country's needs through the Indonesia Aid mechanism.

Jokowi also asked for the support of Vice President Mohadi to ensure the smoothness and success of this strategic cooperation.

The development of e-procurement in Zimbabwe could potentially be one of our strategic projects. I ask for Your Majesty's support in this regard," concluded Jokowi.
