Audi Launches Q5 And Latest SQ5 With Drastic Change

JAKARTA - Audi has just released the latest Q5 model by bringing a number of updates ranging from exterior to carrying technology more sophisticated than before.

Launching from Carscoops, Monday, September 2, this SUV car looks slimmer and minimalist to strengthen its position in the medium-sized vehicle segment.

The main element highlighted by this model is the front light of the Matrix LED as the standard with DRL lighting as the standard. Just like other Audi models, this car carries a distinctive honeycomb patterned grILL of this brand.

Meanwhile, there are major external elements including digital OLED rearlights that can automatically alert other traffic regarding accidents or damage by displaying dedicated graphics.

Moving to the cabin, Audi Q5 did not experience significant changes like other models. There is a curved screen that facilitates 11.9-inch digital instruments and 14.5-inch MMI infotainment, then a 10.9-inch screen is also available on the passenger side.

The steering wheel is packaged simply in flat-bottomed form as a standard, but Audi brings it up by reducing the use of physical control as well as buttons and cabin tuning being moved into the screen.

The manufacturer with the 'four rings' logo also provides various applications to the infotainment system with the operation of Android Automotive OS in which there are applications, including YouTube. In addition, a head-up display is also provided as optional.

According to the brand, cabins in the latest Q5 are more relieved than ever with rear seats offering many adjustments, including the tilt function.

Other important features in the interior include wireless and cooled phone chargers, two USB-C ports upfront, and two behind. The one behind can charge up to 100 watts, enough for a laptop.

Standing on top of the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, this car has a revised suspension and steering system. Audi claims, the latest Q5 has driving convenience compared to the previous one.

The latest Audi Q5 features Frequency Selective Dampers as the standard and Air Suspension with Adaptive Damper Control as optional. The sporty version, namely SQ5, has a dynamic suspension tuning so that it makes it easier to maneuver in a quick bend.

For the United States (US) market, the latest Audi Q5 is given a 2.0 liter TFSI engine with a front wheel drive and all wheels as a standard that powers 201 dk and 340 Nm torque. Meanwhile, SQ5 has 3.0 liters of TFSI 6-cylinder power with 362 dk coupled to the seven-acceleration transmission system DCT and all-wheel drive.

Then, the European version of Audi Q5 got a 2.0 liter TDI engine measuring 201 dk and a 400 Nm torque. Meanwhile, SQ5 has the same engine and power as the US market.

The manufacturer started selling the latest Q5 at a price of 52,300 euros (Rp897.3 million) and SQ5 for 82,900 euros (Rp1,422 billion) for the European market.
