Train Fastmen Record 4.2 Million Passengers Since Operating
JAKARTA - It has been about nine months since the Fast Train was operational. In the period October 2023 to July 2024, the number of passengers reached 4.2 million people.
"Since the beginning of commercial operation in October 2023 to July 2024, we have served 4.2 million passengers," said President Director of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi in an official statement in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, September 1.
The average volume ofPORTed passengers, he said, also increased gradually per day with the record high number of passengers currently reaching 24 thousand per day.
Previously, at the beginning of operation the volume of passengers was only an average of 9,000 people per day, but based on July 2024 data, the number of passengers ranged from 17 thousand-18 thousand/day on weekdays, while on weekends the number reached 18 thousand-22 thousand/day.
Not only that, but operationally it continues to increase, namely the number of trips continues to increase from 14 regular trips per day in October 2023, to 48 regular trips per day since May 2024.
"In early 2025, the number of train trips was programmed to reach up to 62 per day," said Dwiyana.
According to him, the presence of high-speed trains is of course intended for the advancement of transportation in Indonesia in order to improve connectivity and the economy between Jakarta and Bandung through modern environmentally friendly mass transportation.
Not only that, the existence of this high-speed train is expected to be able to overcome the density of Jakarta-Bandung transportation, which has been depending on the Cipularang Toll Road.

By using a high-speed train, passengers do not need to worry about taking a long distance because the Jakarta-Bandung is only taken in 36 to 44 minutes.
"That's because trains can travel at a speed of 350 km/hour so that travel is shorter and more flexible for maximum activity," he said.
Present with a wider and modern space design, the high-speed train has three classes with a total capacity of 601 passengers and special rooms for people with disabilities.
In addition, trains have also served more than 200 thousand passengers of foreign nationals (WNA).
"This achievement is a matter of pride for Indonesia, which already has world-class transportation infrastructure and proves that we have become a symbol of modernizing transportation that is recognized by the international community," he said.
The panoramic train
Meanwhile, to provide comfort and security to train passengers, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) also provides the Panoramic Train.
"The train is the result of modifications from the executive class train," said PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) VP Public Relations Anne Purba.
Anne explained, the train has a very large-dimensional window on both sides and the glass roof extends from front to back which can be opened and closed automatically.
"Not only that, the facilities include comfortable chairs,'remotely controllable window curtains', extensive toilets and automatic sensors, television at the end wall of the train, as well as special baggage shelves at the end of the train," he said.
Customers also receive special services in the form of snacks, food, drinks, and blankets for free.
Currently, KAI has a total of two Panoramic Train units which are innovations from Balai Yasa KAI Surabaya Gubeng.
"In the future, it is possible that KAI will add the train to various series and KAI will continue to make improvements to other passenger train facilities, so that customers are more comfortable on the way," said Anne.
