Russia: West Wants Ukraine To Go To War For Mineral Access
JAKARTA - Kiev' allied countries sponsoring the Ukrainian conflict are not trying to provide benefits to the Ukrainian people but because they require access to the country's mineral resources, according to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
"The empty neo-Nazi country case will not be refilled by itself. Its supporters understand this very well," Medvedev said as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Friday, August 30. "Their goal is not at all to benefit the poor Ukrainian people, which they always ridicule," he said via Telegram.
Access to minerals, continued Medvedev, is something that can offset the flow of money into Ukraine that will never be paid back.
Medvedev said the regime in Ukraine was eager to regain Donbass, a completely foreign area for them.
Nearly half of Ukraine's former national wealth, according to Medvedev, lies in Donbass.
