Korea Open 2024: Indonesia Locks One Final Ticket
JAKARTA Indonesia automatically got one Korean Open 2024 final after two men's doubles representatives were confirmed to face each other in the semifinals of the tournament.
The series of matches in the quarter-finals of the BWF Super 500 level tournament will be completed on Friday, August 30, 2024, evening WIB. Indonesia hopes to only live in the two men's doubles pairs.
The two men's doubles pairs who get tickets for the semifinals and will face off are Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.
"Meeting your own friends in the semifinals will be very exciting. It's definitely not easy because each of them already knows their strengths and weaknesses," said Fikri.

The two pairs previously at the Japan Open 2024 also reached the semifinals. However, at that time none of them qualified for the final round.
The Korea Open 2024 is the first final for one of the two pairs since their formation was overhauled by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) in mid-August 2024.
The Korea Open 2024 is their second tournament since the PBSI's rotation. There are at least two tournaments ahead as their trial for the latest formation.
"Los to the semifinals of course we have our own targets. We also want to achieve it and thank God we can do our best to meet our own colleagues in the semifinals," said Daniel.
At the Super 500 BWF event, Indonesia had a total of six representatives. However, the other four had picked up their suitcases earlier. Three of them returned home in the first half and the remaining one in the second half.
The representatives who stopped in the first half were Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widaja. Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati stopped in the second half.
