Hamas Commander In West Bank Jenin Killed In The Hands Of Israeli Troops

JAKARTA - Israeli forces killed a local Hamas commander in Jenin city, West Bank.

The Israael military said border police forces killed Wassem Hazem, known as the head of Hamas in Jenin. Hazem, according to Israel, was involved in the shooting and bomb attacks on Palestinian territories.

Two other Hamas gunmen who tried to escape from the car they were traveling in were killed by an unmanned plane.

Weapons, explosives, and large amounts of cash were found in the vehicle. There has been no immediate comment from Hamas.

As reported by Reuters on Friday, August 30, a 25-year-old resident of Saif Ghannam village said one of two other men who fled the vehicle died outside his home as a result of a small drone attack that broke the window, while the second man died not far from there.

Ghannam said Israeli forces had removed the bodies.

The incident comes as Israeli forces continue to carry out large-scale operations involving hundreds of soldiers and police launched in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Jenin and Tulkarm, another volatile city in the northern West Bank, as well as the Jordan Valley.

Carriers of Israeli armored personnel backed by helicopters and drones stormed Jenin and Tulkarm on Friday.

Meanwhile, armored bulldozers broke through the road to destroy roadside bombs planted by militant groups.
