Only 270 Thousand Units Sold, Sales Of The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Lower Than Samsung's Target

JAKARTA The latest sales figure for foldable phones made by Samsung, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 6, was recently revealed. Although this foldable device has obtained the Galaxy AI, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still difficult to sell on the market.

Based on Ice Universe's findings on platform X, reported by 9to5google, this device sold for less than 300 thousand units in the first two weeks. This is the number of sales globally, not in one country that is Samsung's big market.

With the emergence of this report, it can be concluded that the sales amount of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is much better than the latest generation. This global sales figure is also not in line with Samsung's target when launching its newest foldable phone.

In July, Samsung said it was targeting a growth of about 10 percent year-on-year. Unfortunately, this target could not be achieved because Samsung only sold 270 thousand units of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the first two weeks.

When launching the Galaxy Z Fold 5 last year, Samsung managed to sell one million devices in total in the pre-order period and 70 percent of them were the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This device managed to sell more than 300 thousand units only in South Korea.

Some time ago, Samsung had said that most of its foldable phone buyers were people who had or used folding phones. This means that users with the regular phone model are still not interested in buying folding phones.

This finding shows that people still don't like folding phones even though the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is already more sophisticated thanks to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). However, there is a possibility that the sales figure of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will increase in the future.
